Uke was born in 1956 in Cologne, Germany. He presently resides in Surrey, BC and San Francisco. Uke started playing at age 15, formed the Old Time, Bluegrass and Folk Band "Fast Freight" which opened for Bill Monroe and his band during a European Tour in 1975.
Uke is a Singer/Song-writer and a multi-instrument player (guitar, 5-string banjo, cittern, ukulele and dabbling in other instruments)
1975 voted Best Fingerstyle Guitar Player at the San Diego Bluegrass Festival

Musical hiatus from 1980 to 2003 while rearing children. Still continued to play for church congregations and private functions.
Since 1994 owner of Blue Moon Closet Systems.
In 2003 he opened the Roots Musical Instrument Store "Blue Moon Music" in Pacifica, CA
2004 to Present Founding Member of Blue Moon Medicine, a San Francisco based Old Time, Folk and Bluegrass Band playing and performing primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area and individual appearances in San Francisco and the Greater Vancouver, BC Area.
Three band appearances on Channel 26 on the Bruce Latimer Show in the SF Bay Area, playing the Green Room at the San Francisco Symphony and a one-hour live radio broadcast from the studios of KSFU.
Uke's performances include original work, Old Time Music, Bluegrass, and Folk Music with a particular North American and Northern European flavor including some songs in Dutch, German and Low-German.
Early musical influences were Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Gordon Lightfoot, Stompin' Tom Connors (it's true), Poco, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Eagles, and a lot of what is called Classic Country Music, from Roy Acuff to Johnny Horton, Wanda Jackson to Dolly Parton.
